System Config Tool: Boot Configuration

You may change the boot configuration.


Configure the System Boot Mode

Boot configuration options are as follows.

Item Description Saved Information
System Mode Change the system mode.
  • Product mode
    • On a CAT-DEV, the application memory size may be 1 GB or 2 GB.
    • The system authority setting is enabled.
    • The host PC cannot be connected.
  • Development mode
    • On a CAT-DEV, the application memory size may be 1 GB or 2 GB.
    • The system authority setting is disabled.
    • The host PC may be connected.
WARNING:
  • If the Boot Mode is set to NAND and the System Mode is set to Production, the caferun and source setbootmode PCFS commands fail. To use these commands, change the System Mode. The new setting is enabled after restarting.
  • If the Boot Mode is set to PCFS and the System Mode is set to Production, the cafeon and caferun commands fail. Edit dev_mode in the system.xml file to recover.
Product Mode
Development Mode (default)
Memory Size for Application This option places restrictions on the memory size available for the application on the CAT-DEV. The 1 GB (Production) setting is the same size as the CAT-R and the production version of Wii U. 2GB (Development) (default)

Launch State You may modify the state flag recorded on the system for initial boot sequence. Initial Launch (Stage 0) (default)
After Initial Update (Stage 1)
After Initial Account Setting (Stage 2)
While Formatting System (Stage 255)

Disc Auto Launch
  • Allow a disc to launch automatically when inserted.
  • When this setting is enabled, the system switches to Auto Disc Launch mode the next time that it boots, and the disc launches automatically when it is inserted.
  • To return to the root menu of System Config Tool, hold the HOME Button down for 4 seconds or press the SYNC Button on the system.
  • To display application information, press the B, + (plus), and - (minus) buttons simultaneously before launching the disc.

CAT-DEV Disc Auto-Re-Insert You may enable the emulation feature to automatically reinsert a half-inserted disc on the CAT-DEV. Enable (default)

HostBridge Settings
HostBridge MAC Address Display HostBridge MAC addresses. Changes cannot be made. HostBridge MAC Address (fixed)
Change HostBridge Name Name the HostBridge. Any character string (maximum 256 characters)
Drive Timing Emulation Setting Switch the Drive Timing Emulation Setting. Enable / Disable
IP/Network Settings
DHCP Setting Switch the HostBridge DHCP Setting. Enable / Disable
IP Address Set the static IP address for CAT-DEV. This setting is valid only when DHCP is set to be disabled. 0.0.0.0~255.255.255.255
Subnet Mask Set the Subnet Mask. This setting is valid only when DHCP is set to be disabled. 0.0.0.0~255.255.255.255
Default Gateway Set the Default Gateway. This setting is valid only when DHCP is set to be disabled. 0.0.0.0~255.255.255.255
DNS Setting Switch the HostBridge DNS Setting. Enable / Disable
Primary DNS Set the Primary DNS address. This setting is valid only when DNS is set to be enabled. 0.0.0.0~255.255.255.255
Alternative DNS Set the Alternative DNS address. This setting is valid only when DNS is set to be enabled. 0.0.0.0~255.255.255.255
Jumbo Frame Setting Switch the HostBridge Jumbo Frame Setting. Enable / Disable
Port Settings
ATAPI Set the ATAPI port number. 0~65535
SDIO Control Set the SDIO Control port number. 0~65535
SDIO Block Set the SDIO Block port number. 0~65535
EXI Set the EXI port number. 0~65535
Parameter Space Set the Parameter Space port number. 0~65535
Drive Information Settings
Revision Set the Revision. 0~ffff (HEX)
Vendor Name Set the Vendor Name. 0~ff (HEX)
Device Name Set the Device Name. 0~ff (HEX)
Release Date Set the Release Date. yyyymmdd
