Cafe SDK Basics Overview
Welcome to the Cafe Software Development Kit! The Cafe SDK provides you with all of the
information that you need to create applications for the Wii U console.
This first section provides basic information about the Cafe SDK development environment
functionality, including devkit (CAT-DEV or CAT-R) setup and operation; building, running, and debugging applications;
mastering titles; and using USB storage
- The CAT-DEV QuickStart Guide section provides
basic information about your CAT-DEV and how to use it to develop and test applications:
prerequisites, installation and setup, and usage.
- The CAT-R QuickStart Guide section provides
basic information about your CAT-R and how to use it to run and test applications:
prerequisites, installation, and usage.
- The System Config Tool subsection explains how
to use the System Config Tool, which is a system application for changing devkit settings.
- In the Build Applications subsection,
you learn how to build applications using the Green Hills Software MULTI toolchain. You will also find
information about the SDK build system and instructions for using relocatable modules (RPLs).
- In the Run Applications subsection, you
learn how to run applications. You will also find information about running multiple
devkits on a single PC.
- The Debug Applications subsection has
information about debugging applications using the Green Hills MULTI debugger.
- In the Master Applications subsection,
you will find instructions for mastering titles so that you may submit for them Lotcheck and
distribution; mastering is also useful for creating an image or disc for local testing.
Mastering application patches is also covered.
- The USB Storage subsection has instructions
for mastering and running applications from an external USB device.
