cafex launch - Launch Application

Syntax

cafex launch <application.rpx> [<arguments>]

Options

None.

Return Values

14 MASTERING_ERROR
0 OK

Also returns all errors from the cafex discrun command.

Description

The cafex launch command launches an application on the host PC through the System Configuration Tool. This command ensures that any AOC or patches installed to the system for this application are applied prior to the launch. Therefore, it is useful during patch or AOC testing, and can also be used prior to testing with the Retail Menu, since it simulates transitions between the menu and the application to be launched.

NOTE:
The cafex launch command only works when the CAT-DEV and PC environment variable CAFE_BOOT_MODE=PCFS.
NOTE:
The title ID of the application to be launched must be different than all other title IDs present on the CAT-DEV.

Example

Launch the helloworld demo

This example launches the helloworld demo and passes the argument "Nintendo" to the application.

Issue the following command at the Windows CMD shell:

cafex launch %CAFE_ROOT%/system/bin/ghs/cafe/demo/helloworld/NDEBUG/helloworld.rpx Nintendo

This will first launch the System Configuration Tool and then launch into the application.
