Launch a Title from a USB Storage Device

The following describes how to browse for and launch a title from USB Storage device. You may browse through the titles and launch a title in three different ways.

To launch a title using the Wii Classic Controller

  1. In System Config Tool on the Root Menu, use the Wii Classic Controller to navigate to Title Launcher, and then press the A Button.
  2. A list of all of the available titles is displayed. Titles installed on a USB storage device are stored on usb0x.
  3. Select the title that you want to launch, and then press the A Button. Confirm your selection by pressing the A Button again. The selected title launches.

To Launch a Title Using a Keyboard Attached to the CAT-R

  1. In the System Config Tool on the Root Menu, use the up and down arrow keys on the keyboard that is attached to the CAT-R to scroll to Title Launcher, and then press the right arrow key to open the Title Launcher menu.
  2. A list of the available titles is displayed. Titles installed on a USB storage device are stored on usb0x.
  3. Select the title that you want to launch, and then press the right arrow key. Confirm your selection by pressing the right arrow key again. The selected title launches.

To launch a title on a CAT-DEV using the System Config Tool command line

  1. Boot the CAT-DEV in to PCFS boot mode. For more information about changing boot modes, see Change CAT-DEV Boot Modes.
  2. Navigate to the folder on the host PC where the Cafe SDK is installed, and then double-click cafe.bat.
  3. At the Cafe Cygwin shell command prompt, type cafeon, and then press ENTER. After a short wait, the System Config Tool is displayed on the television or monitor screen.
    WARNING:
    Do not press CTRL+C after the CAT-DEV reboots.
  4. At the System Config Tool command prompt, type list, and then press ENTER.
  5. A list of the available titles is displayed. Titles installed on a USB storage device are stored on usb0x. For example,
    0005000011aaaa00 v0 os10 NDEBUG sdk20700 Game /vol/storage_usb01/title/00050000/11aaaa00
    
    The Title ID, 0005000011aaaa00 in this example, should match the Title ID that is in the app.xml file that was used in the mastering process.
  6. At the command prompt, type launch titleID, and then press ENTER to launch the selected title. For example:
    launch 0005000011aaaa00
