To mitigate the possibility of screen burn-in, the console automatically reduces the brightness of its video output after a specified period of user inactivity.
The Input Manager is responsible for monitoring all user input devices and discerning the lack of user activity. If no activity is detected for the specified timeout, the Input Manager triggers video screen burn-in reduction (auto-dimming).
The following sensors are evaluated by the Input Manager for screen burn-in reduction.

Applications can override screen burn-in reduction by calling
IMDisableDim. This is useful
for applications such as movie players, which may operate for long periods of
time without user input.
